Rogers Park

Getting its name from historic Rogers Park - located nine miles north of the Cook County Courthouse in downtown Chicago, the area is a diner's oasis with over 130 restaurants.

About Rogers Park

Originally, Rogers Park was a village along the old post road (later Clark Street) to Green Bay, Wisconsin. As Chicago's population grew, Rogers Park was annexed by the city in 1893. Rogers Park is considered two neighborhoods within one: East Rogers Park and West Rogers Park.

Rogers Park is a unique neighborhood that has a quasi 1960's flavor due to the many social activists, artists and ex-hippies living there.

Because it is situated between Loyola University and Northwestern University in Evanston, Rogers Park has a large student population, and this contributes to a counter cultural legacy which is continually being reborn. Additionally, Rogers Park has a lively arts community.

Due to the student population and cultural diversity, Rogers Park is chock full of fantastic restaurants, bars, clubs and great shopping. The housing in Rogers Park is extremely affordable and diverse, ranging from large multi-unit apartment buildings to single family homes, highrises, two and three flat walkups, and new construction buildings.
